Selection process for Master’s program

The selection process takes place annually in the fourth trimester. The candidate should deliver the documents requested in the call to the Graduate Education Service of EEFERP personally, by mail or through a proxy.
As indicated in the call, upon enrolling, candidates are required to present their identification documents, an updated Lattes curriculum: the research project: the forms available on the Program website, properly completed and signed: Portuguese and English language proficiency certificates and payment proof of the enrollment fee.
The selection process consists of two phases, the first of which is eliminatory (written test) and the second qualifying (analysis of curriculum, project and interview).
Candidates who have passed the selection process and who have qualified better for the places offered by the advisor chosen upon enrolling will be considered apt to register for the program. Foreign candidates are also required to present the Foreigner identity/R.N.E. protocol, without which they cannot register.
 
 
Portuguese language proficiency

Besides English language proficiency, upon enrolling for the selection process, foreign candidates are also required to present the Portuguese language proficiency certificate. The following certificates are accepted:
Proficiency Exam of the Language Center at the USP School of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences - São Paulo.
CELPE-BRAS (Portuguese Language Proficiency Certificate for Foreigners), held by the Education Department/Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Brazilian Federal Government.
 

English language proficiency

Upon enrolling for the selection process, candidates are required to present a English language proficiency certificate. The following certificates are accepted:
TEAP (Test of English for Academic and Professional purposes). Minimum score 70 points.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Minimum score 5.
CAMBRIDGE FCE Minimum Grade B.
CAMBRIDGE CAE Minimum Grade C.
TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program). Minimum score 500.
TOEFL IBT (Internet Based Program). Minimum score 70.

The proficiency certificates in Portuguese and English will be considered valid for three years as from the issue date of the document.

Foreign Candidates
Foreign candidates should enroll in the annual selection process.

Study Grants
Foreign candidates can enroll in the PEC-PG, which is a cooperation program with African, Asian, Latin American and Caribbean countries. The goal of this program is to enhance the qualification of college professor, researchers and professionals.
